Raegan J Wells DVM MS Dipl. ACVECC

 

Dr. Raegan Wells is a graduate of Colorado State University, College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences (2004). She completed an internship in general Dr wells picture  medicine and surgery at the Veterinary Specialty Hospital of San Diego in 2005, followed by her emergency/critical care medicine residency and Master’s degree at Colorado State University, College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences in 2008. 

A Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical care, Dr. Wells’ special interests include polytrauma, disorders of coagulation, pulmonary pathology, mechanical ventilation and responsible use of antimicrobials in the critically ill.  Dr. Wells has specialized training in advanced procedures such as mechanical ventilation, peritoneal dialysis, transfusion medicine, intravenous nutrition, placement of central lines, emergency surgical procedures and care of the post-operative patient.

While at Colorado State University, Dr. Wells actively participated in the training of 3rd and 4th year professional veterinary students and interns.  Dr. Wells received the 2008 Pfizer Clinical Resident of the Year for her outstanding clinical and teaching activities.  Her clinical research focused on the role of the immune system in dogs with abnormal blood clots.  Dr. Wells has authored scientific journal articles and enjoys supervising a critical care internship program and providing specialized care for critically ill dogs and cats at the EAC. 

Dr. Wells is available for emergency consultations and referrals.  She is a member of the Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care Society, American Veterinary Medical Association, Arizona Veterinary Medical Association, the Society of Critical Care Medicine, the International Academy of Veterinary Pain Management and the American College of Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care.

 

 

Brandi Garcia, DVM, Dipl. ACVECC

Dr. Brandi Garcia is a graduate of the University of Minnesota, College of Veterinary Medicine (2002).  Following graduation, Dr. Garcia Dr Garcia picture  practiced general medicine in Spokane, Washington where she developed an interest in emergency and critical care medicine.  In 2007, Dr. Garcia pursued advanced training and completed an emergency and critical care internship at Michigan State University.  She stayed at MSU for a residency in emergency and critical care medicine and completed her training in 2011. 

During her time at MSU, Dr. Garcia lectured at state veterinary conferences as well as taught 3rd and 4th year veterinary students.  She had an active role in training the interns and continues to mentor interns at EAC.  Her research interests are focused on coagulation disorders in dogs with autoimmune disease and sepsis.  She has presented numerous abstracts at international conferences and has published her research on coagulation.   Dr. Garcia was a member of the open heart surgery team at MSU, leading the post-operative care of these critically ill pets.

Dr. Garcia’s special interests include disorders of coagulation, acute kidney injury, mechanical ventilation and care of the critically ill post-operative patient.  While at MSU, Dr. Garcia received advanced training in mechanical ventilation, peritoneal dialysis, transfusion medicine, as well as many advanced surgical and monitoring techniques. 

Dr. Garcia is a native of South Dakota.  In her free time she enjoys motorcycling, hiking, traveling and spending time with her Chinese Crested dog and Meyer’s parrot. 

Dr. Garcia is available for emergency consultations and referrals.  She is a member of the Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care Society and the American Veterinary Medical Association.
